The registration fees cover all costs, including a one-day USAT membership for those who are not already members of the United States Association of Triathlons. Early registration closes at midnight, June 30, and final registration closes at noon, July 21. There is no race-day registration. A free pre-race clinic is offered at the Cole Family YMCA on Sunday, July 9, at 3 p.m. Please review the RACE DAY information carefully.
Youth, age 15-17, may register with parental permission. Age for youth is determined as of race day. Age for adults (age 18 as of race day) is as of December 31 of the race year.
Sprint Distances/ Time Windows
Swim: 500 meters; Bike: 12.75 miles; Run: 5 K (3.1 miles). The course is high-quality and competitive. However, time windows are generous for completion of the race and race legs to accommodate novice athletes and those training as a fitness challenge. Staff are experienced with first-time participants. Course marking and support help assure the race is “beginner-friendly.”
Two and Three Member Team Combos are available. Team members perform separate legs of the race, relay style, exchanging the race timing chip in the transition area. Members of teams must register and pay individually. You will be asked for a team name and the name of your team member(s) exactly as they are registered. Teams will receive ONE race packet. Help Finding Team Mates. All team members must be checked-in to receive the race bag.
All Early Registration participants receive a hand-screen-print t-shirt. Each finisher receives an ice-cold KPC Triathlon sport towel. Men and women will receive awards for Overall, Masters, Athena & Clydesdale, and division winners (5 year age divisions, 1st – 3rd). The first 3-person and first 2-person team is recognized. The City of Kendallville awards the first Kendallville male & female finisher and awards for the Youth division.
Split Winners: Special awards recognize the male and female split winners (fastest swim, fastest bike, fastest run).
Early Registration & Pricing: Early registration pricing extends through midnight June 30. T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after June 30. There is no race-day registration. Please note that the race prices have been lowered because the race price no longer includes the 0ne-day USAT membership fee ($12.00 adult/$10.00 youth). The USAT fee and registration service site fee are added separately during the registration process. Early registration prices are: Individual, $60; Youth, $50.00; Two-Person Team, $40/each member; Three-Person Team, $40/each member. There are no refunds after May 30.
Professional timing includes two splits and the finish line. Splits and final results will be available immediately after the race and online.
KPC SPRINT TRIATHLON PACKET PICK-UP
Packet pick-up for the KPC Sprint Triathlon for Newspaper in Education is set for Friday, July 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and race day, July 22, starting at 5:30 a.m.
Racers can pick up their packets Friday at The Cole Family YMCA, Garden Street, Kendallville. Volunteers will be present to complete body marking.
Participants must have their photo ID, and USAT members must have their USAT card for packet pickup. Parents or guardians must accompany Youth and both must have photo ID. Please see Race Information for complete check-in details.
